MAREK HUZAR PhD Student
I am a PhD candidate at VIZJA University, where, under the supervision of Professor Anna Zajenkowska, I will be researching trajectories of change in analytic group therapy. I completed my degree in Psychology at the University of Warsaw in 2019. The title of my master’s thesis was: “Psychological resources, body image, and health-related quality of life in women with breast cancer during treatment and after mastectomy.”
During my studies, I volunteered from 2016 to 2019 with the LGBT Helpline run by Lambda Warsaw. In 2019, I began a psychotherapy training program at the Kraków Psychodynamic Centre, which I completed in 2023. I run a private psychotherapy practice, focusing on the treatment of personality disorders in adults.
Since 2021, I have been collaborating with the Ocalenie Foundation, for which I prepare psychological assessments identifying refugees as victims of torture and prolonged stress. Since March 2025, I have also been affiliated with VIZJA University, where I teach courses in clinical psychology.
My research interests include the treatment of personality disorders and PTSD, the effectiveness of psychodynamic psychotherapy, and the impact of meditation on psychological functioning. In my free time, I go to the gym or the theatre, meditate, or attempt to explain to my two cats why they should not jump onto the kitchen counter.
