SEBASTIAN SMOLEŃ PhD Student

I am a PhD student at Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw and a graduate of Psychology at Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw (specialization in Applied Social Psychology) and Spanish Philology at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw. I also studied at the University of Seville.

My research interests are related to the delay of gratification, self-control, executive control, and rejection sensitivity in dealing with unpleasant emotions, especially with a lack of acceptance. In particular I investigate how social rejection influences the ability to delay gratification depending on other variables, such as rejection sensitivity and executive control. I am also interested in psychological techniques (i.e. workshops) and their effect on attentional and cognitive processes in delaying gratification. Additionally I am also very interested in social information processing, interpretation processes, and others factors that influence decision-making.
