LAB

We are an interdisciplinary team focused on HOSTILITY. Hostility is primarily a cognitive trait related to devaluation of others, believing that others are selfishly motivated, hurtful, intentionally provoking and simply “ugly”. It generally leads to tremendous problems in social functioning. Hostile Attribution is an inherent part of hostility, which is closely related to Social Exclusion and Aggression. It is a tendency to believe that the actor did something intentionally and is to be blamed for that. Hostile Attributions may represent a key factor in psychopathology and physical health, that is why we study its social, cognitive and individual underpinnings. Our findings are implemented in the field of psycho-educational and psychotherapeutic activities. That is why we greatly value and like common work and invite people from all over the (scientific) world to cooperate.

We conduct our studies in different social groups:
violent offenders, psychiatric patients (e.g. with affective and personality disorders), adolescents, parents, intimate partners

We use different methods:
eyetracking, tDCS

Our findings are implemented in the field of psycho-educational and psychotherapeutic activities:
Mentalization Based Treatment, Psychodynamic psychotherapy
